Yes. We connect with suppliers through Shopify's free Collective app, so you'll need an active Shopify store to partner with us. Shopify's basic plan currently starts at $29/mo (see current pricing).

Shopify's Intro to Shopify guide is the best starting point. You can also contact Shopify Support directly 24/7 — they have both AI and human reps available. Once your store is set up, reach out to us and we'll send you a Shopify Collective invitation.

Once your Shopify store is set up, you can send us an invitation through the Shopify Collective app at any time. Alternatively, email us at support@minocquamarketplace.com and we'll send you the invitation instead.

What's a "retailer margin" and what do you charge?
What's a "retailer margin" and what do you charge?
The retailer margin is the percentage of each sale that goes to The Minocqua Marketplace. A 25% retailer margin is about break-even for us — anything above that helps fund site and store management, customer service, and continued growth. We accept lower retailer margins for lower-profit-margin product categories and underrepresented categories on the store.

Yes. With Shopify Collective, you control everything — your product pricing, retailer margin, and shipping rates. We don't dictate pricing; we just need the retailer margin to be workable for both sides.

Yes. To do this, you'll need to create a separate price list for each unique retailer margin in Shopify (e.g., apparel @ 50%, food items @ 35%). Then assign products to the appropriate list.

You do. As the supplier, you're responsible for packing and shipping orders directly to customers. You set your own shipping rates within your Shopify shipping profile.

Inside your Shopify admin, you'll configure shipping zones, rates, and rules in your shipping profile. Resources:

Customers won't be able to check out with your products. This is the most common setup issue we see, so double-check your zones before going live. If you don't ship to all 50 states, note that restriction in your product listings too.

There's an optional Partner Information Form that helps us highlight your brand and products across the Marketplace. It's not required, but great photos and a compelling brand story really do help us sell your products.
