Meet the Duggan Sisters

The Duggan Sisters needed natural and highly effective solutions to life’s most basic problems: stink and stings. Not satisfied with the natural products on the market and too sick to wear chemically-based brands, they took to their own basement and created lifestinks deodorant and lifestings outdoor camping lotion & spray.

Resilient survivors of their own serious health challenges, the sisters combined their training in Lymphatic Wellness, their love of the great outdoors and pure entrepreneurial spunk to bring their one-of-a-kind brand to market.

The Duggan Sisters pooled their resources, created a factory on the first floor of their small cottage and live happily together above it. They work together, play together and community organize together. The Sisters founded a local civic organization to get voters informed, inspired, and involved. They are determined to make getting healthy and staying healthy easy, fun and affordable for everyone.

Top Tips for Summer Fun with Lifestings

We want to make sure you will have a fun summer outside. For best results, here are our top tips for success with lifestings:

Shake the bottle before applying it.
If using the spray version, be sure to rub the product on your skin after misting. This ensures the best coverage on exposed areas. (Lotion has to go everywhere, too.)
Consider putting lifestings on before dressing. Lifestings is safe to apply under your garments. (It also won’t stain your clothes.)
Avoid wearing bug-attracting heavy scents, perfumes, or fragrances such as the ones in perfumes, hair care products or scented laundry detergents. Take a pass on these products.

Is this product safe for kids?

Yes! It’s safe for all ages. Always use as directed and consult a licensed health-care professional if you have concerns.

Is this product safe to wear under my clothes?

Is this product safe to wear on my hands and face?

Yes! You can apply it to your face and hands. You can even spritz the spray into your hair. (Top tip: Brides love it on top of their hair and makeup!)

Can I wear it around my pet?

It is completely safe for you to wear it around pets - unlike DEET or Citronella, both of which are toxic for pets. Our vet loves lifestings, recommends it, and wears it around her own animals and veterinary patients daily. The concentrations of essential oils that we are use are not an issue for pet safety - even if they lick you. I even discussed this with our vet, and she agrees. We have pets in our home and workshop and have never had an issue over the last 14+ years.

Can I apply lifestings to my pet?

Lifestings was not developed for pets. Beware, for example, with dogs, as they have very sensitive noses. While minty-fresh lifestinks is delightful for humans, it is strong for dogs, so I would never apply liberally to them.

🐶 My personal workaround when walking our dog Peanut is to apply it to myself and then take the leftovers on my hands and rub them behind his ears and at the tip of his tail (by his rump). Or I spray my hands and rub his belly. He never minds it on me; I just never apply it full strength to him.

🐴 Lastly, we do hear that horse folks love applying it to their horses to help keep their skin and coat comfortable in the barn or on the trail.

How often should I reapply?

Lifestings lasts for several hours, depending on your physical activity levels and how much you sweat. Unlike synthetic chemical products with usage limits, you can safely re-apply lifestings as needed. If I go to a garden party, I put it on once. If I’m heading out for hours of gardening, I put the lotion formula on first for full body coverage, but may reapply with the spray as I work and sweat in our swampy backyard. Use your best judgment on how much and often to re-apply.

Will lifestings stain my clothes?

No. Lifestings spray is non-staining. When in doubt, spot test in a hidden area of your garment before applying liberally.

Do you have an unscented variety?

Yes! All of our products are unscented. Our catnip, lemon eucalyptus, lemon tea tree, and spearment essential oils aren't fragrances. They are active ingredients with a job to do.

Keep in mind that "scent" or "perfume" is a term from the chemical industry. It allows chemically-based brands to hide up to 3,000 chemicals behind the term "perfume". To create unscented products, they add chemicals to mask other smells. It doesn't necessarily mean purity.

On the other hand, think of all the natural smells in your life, like the scent of a lemon you've just sliced in your kitchen. It isn't "lemon-scented"; it's a lemon! And it has natural powers that you can put to work for you. That's how our essential oil infusions work. Think of it as "flower power" - those amazing plants are there to do a job.

How to Use

Shake well before using
Apply to skin: Cover exposed skin at a minimum, but we recommend applying lifestings before dressing, for extra coverage.
Reapply as needed: Reapply after swimming or heavy sweating for maximum protection.
Layer Lotion and Spray for enhanced protection. While both formulas work well independently, you can layer the two options for optimum protection.
Keep out of eyes: flush with water if contact occurs.
